Classy Bachelorette Party Theme #2: A High Tea Bachelorette Party
For this classy bachelorette party theme, it’s time to break out classic dresses, gorgeous oversized hats, tea and scones. Throw a bachelorette party fit for a Duchess!
How to pull it off: This can be done at-home or at a venue specializing in high-tea service. If you are hosting it at home, think scones, finger sandwiches, pastries and other delicious treats. Recommendations for food include, carrot ginger tea sandwiches, smoked salmon and pumpernickel tea sandwiches, lavender scones, fresh berries and cream puffs. Choose fun, ladylike bachelorette games like “who knows the bride best?”
Décor: Head to a vintage or antique store to find china and other lovely plates, tea pots and teacups. They could match or they could be mismatched pieces (for a more whimsical look). Choose one of the bride’s favorite flowers, and create centerpieces displayed in teacups and teapots. The more flowers, the better. Recommended attire includes fancy hats and brightly-colored dresses. Set up a tea “bar” where several pots of tea are displayed (on a tea light burner to keep the tea hot) and named after the bride’s favorite things.
Gifts and favors: Fill organza bags with a variety of loose teas, a tea strainer and sugar cubes. Place in teacups for guests to take home. You may want to include tea cookies or sugar cubes for a sweet touch.
