If the bride-to-be in your bachelorette party is a runner, then you might consider planning her bachelorette party around a race designed just for women. Women’s races are more than just a pile of miles; they are weekend events in fun destinations and all about celebrating women and friendship. Here are five races planned with girlfriends in mind. Start coordinating your race outfits now.
This race series is a weekend experience that includes a health & fitness expo, a post-race party and a very girly 5K and half marathon. Racers wear personalized bibs and done a boa and tiara to cross the finish line. On finishing, they are greeted by hunky men with a medal, a rose and glass of bubbly.
Race locations include Long Island, NY, San Juan, PR, Myrtle Beach, SC, San Francisco, CA, Galveston, TX, Branson, MO, Peachtree City, GA, southern California and northern Virginia Wine Country.
Founded and run by women, Zooma sets out to inspire women with a fit girls’ weekend. The weekend includes a fitness expo, a mocktail party, a medaled half marathon course or a 10K and/or 5K, the best swag bag ever, and a post-race party that includes bubbly, music, massages and shopping.
The Zooma series runs in Florida, Texas, Annapolis, Md, Cape Cod and Chicago. Race perks vary by location.
The Women’s Half Marathon Series, which also includes a 5K option, features on course entertainment from bands and cheer groups, a designer goodie bag, personalized bib and a 2-in-1 medal and charm.
There’s a generous time limit on both courses. Walkers are welcome or your party pose can sign up as a cheer group. Races are held in Nashville, TN, Scottsdale, AZ, St. Petersburg, FL or San Diego, CA.
What better way to celebrate your BASHelorette than to be a Disney princess for a weekend? Or at least pose with your girls and your favorite Disney princess on the course?
This race, held at the Walt Disney World Resort in Orlando every February, is a jammed packed girls’ weekend. It includes the half marathon, a 10K, an expo with the princess gear your bride desires, a race retreat, a medal perfect for a princess and the Ever After Party.
Run Disney hosts several race weekends throughout the year, like the Disney Wine & Dine Half Marathon Weekend in Florida and the Tinkerbell Half Marathon Weekend in California. Both would be perfect for a girls’ weekend.
The Nike Women’s Marathon is for the ultimate runner bride and her running BASHelorettes. It’s for the serious runner. After 26.2 miles of hilly San Francisco terrain, your bride-to-be will have earned her bachelorette pampering and so will you. Follow this race with an overnight in California’s wine country.
